Job Responsibilities

· Basic food preparation

· Washing up, cleaning and clearing all kitchen areas

· Unloading and putting away deliveries

· Emptying bins, sweeping and mopping floors

· Ensuring all equipment is clean and put away correctly

· Deep cleaning fridges and store rooms to maintain sanitary and kitchen safety standards

 

Candidate Requirements:

· Basic food preparation skills such as vegetable preparation

· Understanding of kitchen equipment

· Importance of and ability to clean kitchen equipment and all kitchen areas / surfaces

· Ability to prepare and clear food service

· Knowledge of kitchen health and safety and food hygiene practices

· Good oral communication

· Attention to detail

· Good level of numeracy

· Adaptability to change and willingness to embrace new ideas and processes

· Positive and approachable manner

· Team player qualities

· Level 1 Food Safety Award

· Awareness of manual handling techniques

· Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety

· Experience of kitchen equipment, including dangerous equipment such as knives

· Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award would be an advantage

· Level 2 Food Safety Awards is preferable
