Our Group business operates 7 days per week and each week is scheduled according to the events we have booked. We are recruiting a seasonal Event Manager who is prepared to work 7 shifts per week across five days from April to October, some of which are likely to include weekends evenings and public holidays.

 

Key Activities and Responsibilities

The role will report to our Senior Event Manager and will be involved in 360’ cycle of both inside and outside events – contributing to planning, checklists, packing, loading and delivering in addition to the direction & management of events.

  • Consult with customers to determine their catering and event requirements
  • Brief the operations team on all aspects of the business and oversee the running of all events
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service, manage the host’s expectations, communicate any changes to relevant personnel and ensure an overall professional and first-class service is delivered
  • Plan and manage staff rotas including back of house
  • Supervise all staff, and coordinate the preparation and serving of food during events
  • Train or provide training to the staff to ensure they operate according to the department standards, including any agency or casual labour that may be required
  • Arrange transportation for food and catering equipment to event site
  • Monitor the availability of catering stock and supplies and order replenishments
  • Track catering expenses, maintain accurate records and reconcile accounts to measure and monitor performance

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering events to a consistently high standard
  • Work effectively with the sales, marketing and catering teams to ensure client expectations are met at all times
  • Good working knowledge of Health & Safety policies & procedures
  • Proactive and professional approach and be able to work to deadlines
  • Be responsible, reliable and be prepared to be flexible
  • Possess strong organisational, decision-making and listening skills
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to problem-solve, finding creative solutions to problems where necessary
  • Be personable and able to build and maintain rapport with team members and customers
  • Fluent English speaker with good communications skills
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure
  • Knowledge and experience of the events industry is preferable
  • Full UK driving license and own transport is an advantage
