The team at Relish have always prided themselves on the relationships they have built with their food and drinks suppliers over the years, the majority of whom are local. Equally the associations and links that have been forged between Relish and key venues for weddings, corporate events or smaller gatherings have been just as significant. In both instances long-standing loyalty, respect and support has been a key ingredient to a successful business.
Similarly, Relish are proactive in seeking out home-grown talent when it comes to team members. Within our team of chefs, all of whom are highly skilled and many of which Michelin trained, we can lay claim to International capabilities, cruise liner experiences and Michelin Star expertise, with many of the team hailing from the Cotswolds itself.
The same can be said of the majority of our customer facing, management, event and office support team, all of whom bring an array of skills and experience to the wider business, as do those who have moved to the area to enjoy the lifestyle that this area affords.
Sponsorship is another area that Relish whole heartedly support, especially when it involves the local community, school or businesses. We have been known to donate both our time and our products as well as support competitions, auctions and give-aways.
In terms of providing for the community, Relish were delighted to support the much celebrated NHS Food 4 Heroes scheme that was triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic by cooking and providing meals to both Cheltenham Hospital and Gloucester Hospitals from March – June 2020. Since then we have once again stepped up to the mark to be the first catering business in the South West to team up with Open Kitchen and support an equally needed food programme.
Relish have pledged to raise over £11,000 to provide 6,000 meals during the summer of 2020 for those who were unable to access a delicious home-cooked dinner during. Our kitchen is a hive of activity and the ovens are working to full capacity and although we’ve pledged 6,000 meals in total, we intend to keep cooking as long as the donations keep coming.
Just £1.85 feeds someone in a vulnerable position so every donation no matter how big or small, makes a difference. That’s quite a big impact we can make between us. We’re calling upon everyone in our community to dig deep and support this amazing initiative. Donating is simple on our Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/relishcateringopenkitchensuk and updates on how we’re getting on can be found on our Facebook and Instagram posts.
