Platform 1 Café, steam museum

Located at the site of the old railway works in Swindon, the Platform One Café is situated just inside the entrance to the STEAM Museum of The Great Western Railway.

Here you can explore the rich history of the Railway and discover the extraordinary stories of the men and women who built, operated and travelled on it during the 1800’s. Brought to life with famous GWR locomotives, imaginative story-telling displays, hands-on exhibits, interactive displays and a large number of rare GWR memorabilia, it makes a great day out for all the family.

The Café sets you up for a day of exploring and adventure from brunch, to elevenses and lunch to afternoon tea. Serving a delicious selection of light bites, freshly ground coffee and homemade cakes, there’s no need to worry about refreshments during your visit.

Museum admission is not required to visit the Café, although it is of course highly recommended!
